Svendborg Architects is a Scandinavian architectural firm based in Copenhagen, led by the firm's founder: architect MAA Johnny Svendborg. Svendborg Architects is an architectural firm with an artistic profile. We believe in architectural poetic meaningful architecture. We have participated in, and won, a large number of architectural competitions over the years. Svendborg Architects is behind several award-winning Scandinavian residential projects, master plans, urban spaces and several cultural buildings, and has demonstrated through several realized construction projects how safe architectural approaches and poetic respectful design can go hand in hand.

Svendborg Architects was established in 2007.

HOW WE WORK

Svendborg Architects helps clients prioritize and see new architectural opportunities within the given framework. We offer extensive experience and close proximity to the client, and advise in all phases of planning and construction, from sketch to finished buildings. We give lectures, and write municipal architectural policies and strategies. Svendborg Architects has a large network in the construction industry, and works closely in teams with other advisors and specialists when the task requires it. In interaction with all parts of the team, we provide architectural solutions that fit into the context, and that relate sustainably to ethics and aesthetics, form and function, time and budget. Solutions that are poetic and meaningful.

JOHNNY SVENDBORG

The firm's founder, Architect MAA Johnny Svendborg, has also been appointed by the Minister of Culture as head of the Danish Arts Foundation's Architecture Committee, he is a member of the Academy of Fine Arts, President of the Academic Architects' Association, a member of the Swedish Transport Administration's Architecture Council in Sweden, the Design Board and the Lyngby-Taarbæk Architecture Council, and has been appointed as an honorary member of the Australian Architectural Association.

Johnny Svendborg is also a member of the Censor Corps for Artistic Education in Denmark, and often a judge in architectural competitions in Scandinavia.
